Battle Royale can be challenging for even seasoned Fortnite players. Using these advanced tips will give you the edge against your competition.

1. Be Aggressive.

In a game where survival is the ultimate aim it may seem counterintuitive to tell you to be aggressive. However the key to survival is knowing how to beat your enemies in a fight. The more fights you get into the more practice you get and the more lethal you become. So when you hear shots fired go towards them. When you see the enemy moving engage him.

2. Know Your Arsenal and Prepare For All Scenarios.

In Battle Royale mode weapon tiers are clearly divided using 5 colors. From weakest to strongest the colors are: gray, green, blue, purple, and orange/gold. Throughout each match focus on acquiring higher - tiered weapons. Every enemy you kill and each chest you loot is an opportunity to swap a weaker weapon for a stronger one. A strategy that involves constant building is the key to winning the majority of your fights. Collect plenty of materials while roaming around so you're ready to build at all times. A lot of players love building forts but I think this feeds into a defensive mindset. Walls and ramps should be your focus. Walls provide great defensive cover. Ramps are really useful in close and mid - range combat because they block your enemy's shots and offer you a height advantage in attack.

Though general wisdom says you should avoid the storm, some regard staying in edge of the storm as a tactic, especially in later stages so you can shoot from the outside in. Of course, this entirely depends on your position, your gear, your health and so on.

Even if you have reached the safe circle, don't assume every other player is also there, as more will be coming from the outside in. Remember this to not only avoid getting shot in the back, but also to your tactical advantage especially if you can pick advancing players off from the safety of a nearby building.

If you are in the circle from the start the game, don't expect things to remain quiet. Players will still roam around looking for loot, and if you are on the edge, fortify yourself in structures to pick off any players that might be coming in when the circle does.
